What we collect

This site has no customer account, no basket and no payment. Three processing operations only:

Audience measurement. Google Analytics 4, only after your explicit consent. Without consent, no cookie is set and no request is sent to Google. Legal basis: your consent. Retention: 14 months.

Contact form. Name, email address and message, forwarded by email to VST43. Legal basis: your enquiry, which we cannot answer without this information. Retention: 12 months after the last exchange.

Newsletter. Email address and language, passed to Mailchimp. Double opt-in: subscription only takes effect once you confirm from your inbox. Legal basis: your consent. Retained until you unsubscribe.

One technical measure applies on top of these. When you submit either of these two forms, your IP address is briefly used in hashed form, for the sole purpose of capping the number of submissions per hour and turning away bots. It is never readable, never kept beyond an hour, and never passed on. This is what lets us do without a captcha. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the site from abuse.
