The story
Casquette 26
Cotton twill is stiffer than plain canvas. The cap keeps its shape after a day in a bag, which an unstructured cap does not.
The peak is preformed rather than flat. It actually shades at midday, which is what it is there for during a week spent outdoors. Six panels and ventilation eyelets. The adjuster is at the back, on a strap.
The front embroidery runs to three lines: the pennant and the event name in red script and white block, then the year between two tricolour bars. It is the same drawing as on the knitted pieces, at another scale.
